Transfer gossip

As January looms, the rumour mill is giving the world of football another fusion of both fantasy and genuine links between hundreds of players and clubs, here I'm going to give my thoughts on a couple flying around.

Falcao to Chelsea - Well, it's certainly been around for a while. The Colombian, and arguably the best striker in the world (excluding Messi), with an amazing record and such talent for finding the net, it would be hugely exciting to have him in the premier league and with recent poor performances from Torres who still is considerably lacklustre this doesn't look out of question. The rumour that Daniel Sturridge is leaving Stamford Bridge gives way for another place in the attacking line up, however, the blues will face fierce competition from many other clubs including Manchester City, so as speculation continues only time will tell if the £50 million rated Athletico Madrid player will move in January.

Demba Ba to Arsenal - With Arsenal still lacking some potency in front of the goal and the Newcastle front man seemingly interested in a move away from St Jame's park, the buy out clause in his contract should only bolster the chances of this transfer. An interesting one considering Newcastle's current position and strange to take him away from fellow Senegalese striker Cisse, but seemingly a bargain at £7 million.

Loic Remy - A number of clubs have been interested in the French international and with his contract ending fairly soon Marseille look set to cash in on Remy. Tottenham, QPR and Newcastle to name just 3 of the clubs in the running, but if the Ba deal goes through we could well see a knew all French speaking strike force in Tyneside.

Other possibilities - A few names look likely to leave their current clubs in the current window, Fabio Coentrao is seemingly unhappy with a lack of footballing action in Madrid and a host of top clubs are interested in the Portuguese wing back. Another Portuguese player, Nani of Manchester United looks like he could be on his way, but he may come with a hefty price tag if his destination is another in England. David Villa is a stellar player who has such prestige in La Liga may be on his way out of the Nou Camp but will also cost a large sum, but nothing to put off some of the larger clubs around.
